Nope, not NaNoWriMo. That’s until November, the crazy emotional month for me. I’m talking about ROW 80 {A Round of Words in 80 Days}. You don’t know what that is? I didn’t either until my friend Alice explained in her post that it’s for.. get this… writers (or people who want to be a writer) who have lives! Sure, it may seem a bit like NaNo, but this challenge? Doesn’t have a word count you should meet every day. And I? I love that part. That is something I can definitely do.

What do I hope to gain out of this? A good (at least not shitty) novel. That isn’t written under lack of sleep because OMG I need to write 26345 words today. Don’t get me wrong. I love NaNoWriMo. That’s how I met a bunch of writer friends that I still talk to. It’s amazing.. that exhilarating feeling of holy crap, I wrote a novel (at least half of one, anyway). So please, don’t say that I’m hating on NaNo, because I do love it. I hope to really set a daily writing routine. As in everyday. I was good for like five days and all of a sudden. BOOM! Life got in the way.

Even if I don’t finish this new shiny (historical romance) during this challenge, I hope to at least make a good dent in it. Including research and drooling over dresses and beautiful castles/mansions from the 1800′s. Of course, if I DO this challenge, there’s a probability I won’t participate in NaNo because I’ll probably do next round of ROW 80. So stick around, and maybe you’ll get a sneak peak of a sex scene or two. Or maybe a chapter if I’m feeling extra confident about it. I will, of course, try not to edit anything until the very last bit (if I finish it) but I AM and WILL finish this one. Because this one? Has kind of stolen my heart a little bit already. And it’s only about a thousand words.

It starts Monday, by the way!

The point of this post is to tell you that I got a new shiny story idea. A historical romance! With no vampires! Because honestly, I’m just tired of writing vampires into stories. I always forget who I staked through the night or who caught fire and turned to ash. Poor vampires. I’m going to be doing extensive research on the Victorian Era since that is the time period where my novel begins.

I have no idea what it’s about and my organizational skills suck so I will be using some pointers and ideas a friend has blogged about and plug in my information since it seems that I always misplace a super awesome idea! for a future chapter. What do you use to organize your novel and make everything flow smoothly?

I seem to be in a historical romance reading craze right now and can’t get enough YA Historical Romance books on my to buy/to read shelf so what do you recommend? I’m really really into the 1890s but I read just about any time period as long as it has carriages, corsets, fan flirting, and gorgeous dresses.

One of my inspirations for this new shiny is Love Story by Taylor Swift. While the song is super mega cheesy, I do love the setting, the dresses, and the romance brewing. And the dancing, of course. But shh.. don’t tell anyone.

And thanks to another friend, I have learned how to make time to write. And not to beat myself up if I don’t reach my WC goal. That’s something I’m just simply going to refuse to do from now on. I felt like a failure every time that I set a goal.. say 1K a day… and I only wrote a few hundred words. The point is to write and make a routine to set time to write. Not to beat yourself up. Yesterday? I wrote 120 words. Today? 200 and something. See? No pressure is good.

Note to self: learn how to make a corset

Self, you are going to write this year every day. At least a sentence or two. Or just a thought for a chapter in a novel or something. Anything, really.

But, that resolution {goal} fell apart. Being a mom, a stay at home mom at that, puts sort of a halt on your writing. Sure, you may think what are you talking about? You have alllll the time in the world! But I don’t. And it probably has a lot to do with time management, because I really suck at that.

Well now that a birthday is approaching, I’m asking myself:

What have you accomplished lately?

and I don’t really have an answer. I mean sure, my daughter is a good kid. And she plays well with others, most of the time. And she has manners but I meant what have I accomplished for myself?

It is high time I get back into the writing groove. This is why I created this blog. Okay so I did not create it just now. It is actually an old blog I abandoned a few years ago. It was my very first wordpress blog.
